Finished in one of the most popular colour combinations – Old English White over an Oxblood Red leather-trimmed interior. This Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 FHC is a wonderfully presented example of the iconic and beautifully styled classic British sports car, which recently underwent a full, ‘nut and bolt’ restoration. The odometer indicates 60,531 miles, but the car has only done 500 as testing miles since the restoration.
Under the bonnet sits the original naturally aspirated 3.8-litre straight-six, fed by triple SU carburettors, delivering around 265bhp to the rear wheels via a four-speed Moss manual transmission.
An original right-hand-drive car; this example was originally an Australia-delivered model, which was later imported to Japan before being fully stripped for restoration. It was then imported into the UK and has been with the first UK owner for eight years. It comes with the period non-transferable registration mark ‘AEM 9’.
The car was treated to an extensive, three-year restoration by the renowned Tudor Black Coachworks with no expense spared, at a cost of nearly £150,000, which was completed in 2022.
It is reported to be a matching-numbers car, accompanied by the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate. Benefiting from a selection of desirable upgrades to improve reliability and usability, arguably this is one of the finest E-Types on the market.
The car comes with a Production Record Trace Certificate from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust, the V5C, original owner’s handbooks, a documentation folder including photos and paperwork covering the restoration, and a large collection of pre-restoration documents supporting the car’s history.

£0Jaguar E-Type Series 1
The Jaguar E-Type Series 1 is widely celebrated as one of the most iconic and influential sports cars of the 1960s, combining breathtaking performance with timeless design. Launched in 1961, the Series 1 featured a 3.8‑litre inline-six engine, later upgraded to 4.2 litres, producing around 265bhp, paired with a four‑speed manual gearbox. Its lightweight construction and advanced independent rear suspension allowed the E‑Type to achieve 0-60 mph in under 7 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 150 mph, remarkable for its era.
The car’s signature long bonnet, low-slung profile, and covered headlights set a new standard for automotive design, earning it acclaim from enthusiasts and critics alike - including Enzo Ferrari, who famously described it as “the most beautiful car ever made.” With an aluminium or steel monocoque and lightweight components, the Series 1 also offered impressive agility and handling, making it a true driver-focused sports car.
Inside, the cabin combined simplicity with elegance, featuring leather-trimmed seats, a minimalist dash, and a commanding driving position. Over 60 years later, the E-Type Series 1 remains a highly sought-after collector’s car, admired for its engineering, aesthetic purity, and enduring impact on automotive design.
