The Ferrari 296 GTS marks a revolutionary chapter in Maranello’s history - the first series-production open-top Ferrari to pair a V6 engine with plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology. Beneath its sculpted body lies a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 and an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, together producing a combined 819 bhp and 740 Nm of torque. This setup delivers exceptional performance, with the 296 GTS accelerating from 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 205 mph, while also offering up to 15 miles of electric-only range.

Unlike the GTB, the GTS features a fully retractable hard top that can be lowered in around 14 seconds at speeds of up to 28 mph, transforming the car from coupé to open-top berlinetta without significantly affecting performance or chassis rigidity.
