Used Alfa Romeo Stelvio for sale

First produced in 2016 following the heady success of the Giulia, Alfa Romeo found its stride. There was an SUV- quite possibly the most lucrative car sector of today that very much embodied everything Alfa Romeo stood for and looked good whilst doing it. The Stelvio comes in a top-of-the-range Quadrifoglio, which uses the same 2.9l V6 found in the Giulia. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio was also available in a limited run of 175 units under ‘Super Sport’ moniker, which offers more exclusivity and several performance upgrades, such as an Akrapovic exhaust system.

What the Stelvio has to offer

Practicality. As an SUV, the Stelvio offers an elevated view of the road and plenty of space. The Stelvio follows the same handsome Alfa Romeo design language as the Giulia and offers similarly engaging, agile driving dynamics. Alfa Romeo’s future holds electrification, with both the Giulia and Stelvio up for treatment. With the future of ICE cars from Alfa Romeo under threat, the Stelvio represents one of your last chances to get a car with an Alfa Romeo V6. That, in itself, represents a very convincing argument.

Interior and tech

The interior offers decent space, with an infotainment screen sat in the middle of the dash. Later versions have TFT dials in place of analogue ones, too. The interior is mostly leather, with carbon fibre accents, such as the one across the dash. It’s a bit less polished than rivals, but considerably better than Alfas of the past. Standard equipment is substantial at the top of the range, and you’re not left wanting for many more features. Some owners have noted the seating position is slightly compromised, due to the Stelvio being based on the Giulia’s platform.

What are the running costs?

The Stelvio manages 23.9mpg combined on the WLTP cycle, slightly better than some of its competition, such as the Porsche Macan. Slightly higher than the more aerodynamic and lighter Giulia, on which it is based, but that’s a trade-off because of the body shape. Alfa Romeo’s regular services aren’t too expensive but bear in mind that if any problems arise, the cost can increase considerably. CO2 emissions are typical of the class, worse than some but better than others, at 267 g/km. The Jaguar F-Pace, for example, has CO2 emissions of 275 g/km.
