Ferrari 812 For Sale
Used Ferrari 812 for sale
The 812 comes in three front-engined flavours: Superfast, GTS, and Competizione. The Superfast is a hard-top coupe, the GTS features a removable hard-top, and the Competizione, as the name suggests, is a pumped-up and refined version of the Superfast, with a colour scheme to match.
What the 812 has to offer
The 812 was introduced in 2017, with more power than its predecessor, the F12. The 812 has an eye-watering 789bhp and 718Nm of torque tucked under the bonnet, coming from a naturally 6.5l V12, the most powerful naturally aspirated production car engine ever made when it was introduced. The V12 propels the 812 from 0 to 62 in 2.8 seconds, meaning a devastating pace for anyone with the nerve to try it out. The 812 is lighter than its predecessor, which only serves to benefit its performance. Compared to the F12, the 812 has closer stacked ratios in its seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It also has more intelligent aerodynamics than the F12, which is perhaps why the 812 has lost some of the F12’s good looks.
Interior and tech
In the middle of the dash lays two air vents, one angled towards the driver and the other toward the rest of the cabin, To the side you’ll find a typically button heavy, flat bottomed steering wheel, where the start/stop and Manettino Switch reside. Behind the steering wheel lurks a rev counter and two screens flanking it that can display a variety of dials. The wheel itself has carbon inserts that help give the interior a special feeling. The satnav can only be displayed on the small screens on either side of the rev counter, however, meaning you might struggle to see it clearly. The boot is reasonably practical, so you can take a bit of luggage with you, which is a bonus.
What are the running costs?
Not good. The 812 manages a lowly 17mpg combined according to WLTP standards and high CO2 emissions of 366 g/km. It is not too dissimilar to some of its competitors. The 812 is worse in both categories than the Bentley Continental GT, however. Maintenance and servicing will be expensive as well- One might say that is an occupational hazard when owning a Ferrari. That’s not the point of the 812, however. Any woes can soon be forgotten when you fire up that staggeringly good V12.
